Re: SNES mini thread

Here you go Mugsy. :D https://i.redditmedia.com/Rg0zCTEoyWy3m08G9LUGVTLRLZOAfKSzes-ophqnYwA.jpg?w=576&s=7895475f01c3a9f8d3b353f3644910bf (From his comments in the thread, he's actually put the dongle for the wireless controllers *inside* the console also.. ;) ) Heh, that's probably wishful thinking ...

Re: SNES mini thread

Haven't posted here in a while because I've had nothing positive or interesting to say, truth is that I was having some headaches and problems with my 8bitdo sf30 pro controller on USB Hosted PS1 games to be honest, with L2/R2 not being recognized or bindable at all. Just this morning I stumbled acr...

Re: SNES mini thread

8Bitdo arrived this morning. The Snes plug/Bluetooth adapter thingy ordered from another retailer has not, however =( Gave it a quick go on the pc before work, tried one or two 'controller' / platformer games that I could think of that I had installed and it seems to do the trick. All the standard f...

Re: SNES mini thread

Is that the one you linked and mentioned way back in October? Just had a another look, yeah already seems like a tight squeeze with just the vanilla stuff. Need one that fits extension cables, bluetooth dongles, thicker 8bitdo controllers, OTG adapters and USB sticks to accommodate for our modded/ha...

Re: SNES mini thread

Ooooh, so wait the Yanks actually had those colourless buttons on their snes controllers back in the day? Huh, well that certainly explains a bit more, and why those ugly versions even exist and are everywhere these days moreso than the coloured ones  You know.. I have been on the fence an...

Re: SNES mini thread

Awesome. Yeah according to amazon mine should be arriving between the 22nd and 28th. My derp haeadslap moment came recently when I started to play a bunch of these PS1 classics after setting up the USB storage method, and I quickly became reminded of the fact that you sort of need all 4 shoulder but...

Finally a concise and easy to follow *Written* guide... https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/comments/7hyd1d/usbhost_guide_step_by_step_installation_guide/ I wish this was there when I did it, the videos are nice and all but there's a lot of pausing and going back and forth with the ~30minute lengt...

Re: SNES mini thread

https://i.imgur.com/6oslgKz.jpg Getting there slowly. For whatever reason Sega CD savestates won't load (in-game saving works though so they're still playable 'traditionally') and I can't seem to get N64 games to run at all, needs more testing with cores maybe. The annoying thing about that is that...

Re: SNES mini thread

Yay, my OTG adapter arrived, gave it a quick plug-in test and power seems to be running through it to turn the Snes on fine. Guess I'll sit right down tonight after work and try to properly sort out this whole USB storage thing then. I do wish this were the weekend already though, as I have a feelin...

Re: SNES mini thread

Oh, I think I read somewhere when I was looking into these that while those Nes30Pro controllers do look and perform nice enough, a complaint about them is that the 1 and 2 shoulder buttons on either side are adjacent to each other rather than forward-to-back like we're used to from every other mode...

Re: SNES mini thread

They offered me one of those as a replacement one of the times I went in to check on my Nyko over the past months, I turned it down because I just want a regular wireless without the fancy button setup. (As an aside, holy crap I just rechecked the Nyko and it's been pushed back yet again for a third...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBPA961gAD8 Using a Hakchi method to build the folder structures and organise all the games properly. It all actually looks pretty simple really once you get the initial kernel boot/flash malarky done with. Impressed at how the PS1/Sega CD games run on it, and now I c...

Doom 4 at its historically lowest price at Fanatical right now.
EDIT: 9.99USD, was cheaper with a code earlier but they seem to have disabled it.. still cheap as chips.

Re: SNES mini thread

Perhaps EB games missing shipping deadlines and constantly pushing back the release date of my Nyko is a blessing in disguise? (Was meant to originally be Oct 31 when I ordered, then Nov 18th, now Nov 29th..) Might seriously consider cancelling and getting one of those 8bitdo's instead, cheers. Yeah...

Re: SNES mini thread

Cool cool. So it's a totally separate, unconnected dual boot sort of setup then. While I would have preferred a method in which everything can be accessed and played at the same time while powered on, I suppose beggars can't be choosers. I'm happy enough with my GBA/GBC/Nes/Sega/Megadrive etc. libra...

OxAjQ_7QHmg A step by step instruction video, which features an annoying smug voice that makes you want to slap the guy, a whole lot of wank until the explanation actually starts at about 11 mins in, and him actually stuffing up midway through and needing to start over.. but it *is* all there from ...

Will be keen to keep an eye on, still seems very experimental at the moment :) I might go ahead and order one of those splitter hub thi...

On the topic of River City Ransom, a sequel does exist on the snes!
Oh wow cheers. Took a bit of looking because it has a funky Japanese name and from what I can gather it's an unofficial 'spiritual successor' sequel, but I managed to find an english patched version of that too :D

Re: SNES mini thread

So this thread has been pretty quiet for a while. Outside of actual modding (Up to 80 games now with custom borders on them all..) - what are y'all playing or favourites at the moment? if you're still gaming on this thing that is. I'm pretty addicted to all these Jrpgs and games in general that I've...

So that 'all-in-one' patch that he's updated the thread with for Terranigma works pretty perfectly. https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/comments/78pu0f/terranigma_playable_with_canoe_maybe_more/ I was actually about an hour of playtime into a slap-dash retroarch version, but decided to restart my ...

Re: SNES mini thread

Heh, Modding Terranigma to a decent state was doing my head in. On the one hand I really wanted the NTSC American version patch applied on it, since I'm a stickler for FPS and the PAL's 50 is pretty noticeable on action oriented things like this. On the other hand I also wanted to use the fixed Font...

Re: SNES mini thread

I'm still pretty noob with all this, don't really know what that means in terms of executing something that many times, or what a 'nands' is but I assume none of that is good, and could potentially damage the console? Guess I'll be grabbing that patch thingy then. I haven't really noticed any slowdo...

Re: SNES mini thread

The Snes and controllers look like 2d printed images in those pics :P But yeah apart from that the case does looks nice.
