Re: Minecraft

Acegiak, your server sounds awesome... sadly, i'm fairly deep into my mcau build so am unlikely to join (unless they do a server wipe). Totally understand the investment in major builds. Thats part of the reason I find map wipes so painful but the sense of community and exploration with new maps is...

Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss

I miss the original age of empires. I played that game so much. Also Kurushi. It's an old ps1 puzzle game. It's probably one of my all time favourite games. My gf laughs that I play all these games and my favourite game is this old ps1 game no ones ever heard of. Kurishi and Age Of Empires were ama...

You know what was great and had a really nice hd remake? The Secret of Monkey Island. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

Re: List of issues

I assumed kingley's lack of avatar was due to the fact that no mere image can capture the intimidating glory of his luscious beard.

Re: Minecraft

Yeah it's all serverside so you can just jump in with your vanilla client. I'm using default textures but have a shader mod installed, kharis, looks super pretty

Re: Minecraft

My server is vanilla with a couple of mods added on for taste. The main thing that is different is that it has Dobby as a chatbot deity and I wrote a plugin to randomly spawn better dungeons and occasional quests/minibosses.

Re: Minecraft

I guess it just looks to me like they're trying to use minecraft to lock in the position of Windows as the gaming OS with younger generations despite all the awesome work Valve has been doing making gaming on Linux a serious option. Valve have been doing good work, but I don't think enough devs are...

Re: Warcraft Movie - Trailer

I know it's early and this is only a trailer but the compositing in some of the human scenes was pretty rough. Hope to god that gets cleared up.

I am pretty grumpy about the whole "windows 10 version" because it's such a Microsoft move. I guarantee we'll see their investment in development shift to make the Xbox and Windows 10 versions the flagship Minecraft versions and the rest of us will end up being left out in the cold. /end angry linu...

I'll do it around midday adelaide time tomorrow. I'll try and write up a bit of doco for the custom plugins in that time too.

Add "Karting" to the end of that title and you have a really damn fun game! LBP2 also gets a rotation in my PS3 now and then. Though my PS3 is mainly used for Netflix.
How did lbp karting compare to modnation racers?

(My ps3 is mostly used for YouTube)

Re: Minecraft

I'm thinking that one of the best parts of Minecraft is starting a new map so I might restart the MachineSpirit.net map tomorrow if people want to come play. Any suggestions for a 1.8 seed?

Re: List of issues

Is it to do with the automatic redirect for https on the main site? I know chrome has a tendency to do weird shit with that. Some of my project subdomains on machinespirit.net just won't load properly in chrome because the ssl cert isn't for that subdomain and chrome tries to make it work automatica...

Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss

I would say that the new Oddworld version is "more pretty, less beautiful". Yeah the limitations of the tech available for the original gave it that grittiness but also I think the limitations of the Unity engine are really obvious. They don't seem to be able to deliver the same sense of scale and d...

We signed on for 24mth contract with Internode when we got our NBN connection a little earlier this year. A little bitter about being locked to them while they close down services I like.

Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss

Did anyone else get really upset with the Abe's Oddysee "New and Tasty" HD remake? I feel like it massively cheapened a beautiful game. :/ I've avoided it in case of that feeling. Sometimes it is better to just live with the fond memories. *fart* Having been and experienced it for you, you maed the...

Steam Machines

Wasn't sure if this belonged in Console Gaming or PC Gaming but:

Is anyone actually planning on getting a Steam machine? I feel like they look super cool but I play a completely different KIND of game on my couch vs my PC.
