Re: Fitness 2018

Been slacking with my exercise. Came down with a serious case of "I don't want to's" for the last month and a half. Went straight back into my old routine, found it completely exhausting. It's a bit scary how quickly things can get away from you if you let them.

Re: What are you reading?

Artemis by Andy Weir (Guy that did The Martian). Set on a near future moon city. Certainly not as good as The Martian, but still pretty good I thought. Similar sort of a style to it.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Last time Internode tried to get me to go through the troubleshooting process it was the third time in as many weeks (reoccurring issue that got "fixed" both times after a tech was dispatched). I told them I was fed up with it and could I just please get to the part where they sent a tech out and I ...

It's modern day, but very heavily influenced by cold war spy/espionage stuff;

Star Trek ended up finishing a bit.. Harry Pottery;
To defeat the bad guy all you need is love. Blah.
Counterpart is a pretty decent watch. Given that Agents of Shield is on a break it's probably my number one current show.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I actually built the Cyclops even before the Seamoth. I'm not sure I did the start of that game the way I was supposed to. The whole game's a bit like that really. It's whatever you make it.

Re: What are you watching?

Star Trek Discovery is finishing a lot better than I expected. I thought it had pretty much gone off the rails at one stage but it's really coming home strong. Still watching Lethal Weapon too. I don't know if the writers are doing it on purpose or not, but Riggs' relationship with stability has bee...

You would think by now, with the amount of times things have gone wrong when interacting with these dinosaurs that people would take it all a bit more seriously and not put themselves in the position of getting eaten so easily.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

It says I've got 61 hours played. But I stuffed around a LOT. Made half a dozen properly decent bases, hoarded a stupid amount of resources that I never used and often left it running while I wandered off to do other things.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Finished Subnautica. That game was so much more than I expected... but also a bit less than what I expected in other ways. Really well made though, rock solid design and implementation. Glad I decided to give it a go.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I finally got hold of enough pieces of tech to build the scan room. That really opened up the world. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I've gotten on the Subnautica train (sub?) as well. Been enjoying it, but I've hit a bit of a wall recently with acquiring complete blueprints of things, starting to get frustrated with how many things I'd like to construct but can't.

The URL says it all really.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I tried replaying Witcher 2 last year. I have no idea how I made it through the first time or how I enjoyed doing it so much. It just seemed so clunky and boring the second time around. I think maybe the design and mechanics haven't aged very well. Which is weird to say about a game that isn't that ...

Two Point Hospital - sequel to Theme Hospital made by a lot of the same people behind the original.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Giving Dragon Age: Inquisition a second go. Didn't make it all the way through last time (back when it came out). I find the story parts pretty amazing, but there's just so damn much filler. "Cheating" a little bit this time to make the regular gameplay go by faster to get to the story bits. So far ...

Re: What games are you looking forward to in 2018?

Hadn't heard of Sea Of Thieves before this. Looks like the Darkzone from The Division, but with ships and pirates. That might go alright. Also had no idea there was going to be an Evil Genius 2. I know Elixir Studios were working on it back in the day before they shut down. I wonder if any of their ...

BattleTech by Harebrained Schemes should be worth a look. But yeah, I'm a bit like you. Far Cry 5 was the first game that came to mind when I read the title.

Baby Driver, Thor: Ragnarok and The Big Sick. Haven't seen Star Wars yet, but I'm sure it'll be fine too. I kind of struggled to remember 3 good movies I'd seen this year.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Ended up calling out Mr Flakey Gamer for being flakey. He got a bit cranky and doesn't want to play anymore. Which was coming sooner or later anyway, not sure it's a negative.

Maybe he'll have a better attitude next time he wants to play something. Maybe.

Game related rather than game specific so I'll put it here - how would you deal with someone who keeps wanting to play games with you but is also flakey as fuck and invariably quits well before anyone else in the group wants to (both session-wise and playing at all)? I just.. I don't know. I know it...

Replaced the fans on my video card. A few more zip ties, a couple less screws and some thermal paste that must be at least 10 years old and everything somehow seems to be working ok - No more ticking or whirring sounds, similar temps and booted properly after my first attempt at reassembly. That'll ...

That's a pretty awesome trailer. But Tracer? Seriously Blizzard? Man they are pushing Overwatch hard. I'd bet good money that they paid or at the very least approached WB to get her in there.
