So my weekend consisted of
Saturday school fete - lots of walking and a little helping out with the plant stall - one good coffee - one so bad I threw it out - and some mediocre food
Sunday - paintball - with no running 'cos my ankle is pinned - but lots of crouching and squatting
Lunch at Edgars Inn - great burger, with a beer
Home - shower - sleep ('cos I'm old and deserved a nanna nap)
Then in to town - dinner at Kinn (Thai) AWESOME food
Then two hours of Steven Fry walking up and down a stage and talking - and it certainly didn't feel like two hours
The man is amazing - I already knew much of what he was saying because I've read a few of his books - but he talked pretty much solidly for two hours without a sip of water - without a break - and without referring to notes except for the segment of poem he read at the beginning of the evening in response/tribute/acknowledgement to events in Paris (September 1, 1939 - W H Auden)

My only regret is that my legs are a little sore - 'cos I'm too old for paintball

Picked up old Nexus 4 I have laying around... was going to use it as an MP3 player...
But apparently I had a pattern lock on it, and I can't remember it...

And since it has updated to Android 5, they have removed the forgot password option...
Not happy...
Wow - how stupid to take away that safety feature...

Anyway - If it is still connected to the network with an account you have details for - try to install Android Device Manager - then use the Lock option which will let you set a password instead of the pattern

Tried the Android Device Manager... but because I already had a password on my phone it can't be changed to a different one...
Made it so that I couldn't get in unless I knew the pattern. So I ended up wiping it, probably lost some photos, but hopefully not too many that I hadn't already removed...

Slightly pissed off, and agree that the features that people used to unlock them shouldn't be just removed... But it has all been done in the name of safety...

Is it just me, or is Outlook 2013 a colossal piece of broken shit? I just can't get it to work, from just not receiving emails that I know are there (checking on other devices with same settings, on same and different networks), to just randomly freezing every 5 minutes and needing to be killed in the task manager.

Probably in your best interest to absorb the watermelon as well. Don't worry though I've got you covered I'll have absorbed the whole thing by like... Friday at the latest.

I haven't had that kind of issue with it myself, it just seems slower and the interface isn't as good as 2010 was, especially for the older blokes who don't do computers that well.

I'm on 2013... it took a fair whack of getting used to, but I don't mind it.

My hair is currently down past my shoulders, most likely the longest it's been ever since our wedding... I tend to cut it short every summer, because hair is just annoying really. Short hair is easier to style, easier to maintain but surprisingly more expensive as it means I need to go to the hairdresser every 6-8 weeks instead of going every 12-16 weeks.

Mine is usually a number 1 all over...
But I noticed that I am getting a really bad bald patch now... so it might have to stay a bit longer to cover it over

This is doing my head in...

I have a colleague who I am certain was placed on this earth to test my patience, and the frustrating thing is that of the 35 people I work with, he is the one that I have to share an office with.

Apart from the things I’ve already raged about in the past (the stench, as he goes out for a smoke every 30-40 minutes all day long and then comes back in and stinks the place out), the slurping and chomping (I have misophonia, that aside, even others who aren’t sensitive to sound have commented that the way he slurps everything he drinks is excessive and revolting), the insistence that his window be open thus causing his blinds to bang and clang as they flap in the breeze and the general dickheadery, he now has this new ‘trick’ that has been driving me mental and it looks like this:

Image

Essentially, if I am at my desk and he needs to submit paperwork, instead of putting it IN my tray, he balances it precariously on the edge. If I am away from my desk, he puts it on my chair or my keyboard even though I have made it clear that placing things on my chair/keyboard is a sure fire way to ensure that I do NOT treat it as urgent.

All these little things slowly drain my will to live… bring on 2016, and redundancy life!

I'm sure I read a year or so ago that a man had been granted permission to wear a colander in his licence photo, possibly another state? Thought this might have been a repeat of old news, but it's a lady this time.

Trying to find that article turns up one from last year, where another woman won the right to do it. Former porn actress Asia Carrera: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nati ... /19200447/ (link is SFW, don't Google her at work!)
