Personally I enjoy the craftsmanship of it. Like cooking, that ability to transform ingredients into something different that's exciting and tastes good is really satisfying.

Then again, I'm the kind of person who bought a grinder and a manual espresso maker and goes to cafes to find nice beans, despite pods being readily available, cheaper, and more convenient to use.

Ended up making a Manhattan (bourbon, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters, maraschino cherry) and a margarita (tequila, cointreau, lime juice, salt). A good night tbh.

I just had beer  Had 3, but they were 500ml cans and they knocked me for six... funny how cutting back kills your tolerance for alcohol.

Stepped on the scales today, all damage from Christmas/NY is now undone, officially down 14.6kg now :D

Discovered we can buy a LAN Connector for our Split System which will allow us to control the temperature of our home remotely from our phones, including setting schedules etc - but it also means I'll be able to use IFTTT to enable the heating/aircon to be voice controlled via our Google Home setup.

Anyone else remember when you used to be able to just buy an app for a few bucks, as opposed to seemingly everything being subscription based these days?

I don't remember ever buying an app

In all seriousness, I refuse to support most things that are subscription based... probably why I play Diablo 3 and not WOW.

At least it's not a selection criteria response.

Takes me 3 days of planning. A week of writing and then a few days of review to do them right.

My way of doing selection criteria is to read the criteria then walk away. After a while (and lots of self doubt), I write a bunch of dot points against each criterion, then walk away again. I then intermittently come back to fill out a dot point or two. I occasionally think of better examples in the interim.

After about a day and a half, I usually have something I can live with. Or at least something that satisfies me enough that my overwhelming desire to not waste my time on it wins out.

Printer companies realised they were in the cartridge business and the upfront costs of printers plummeted. Software is catching up to hardware.

Odd? I know Spotify has an Australian Top 50 that gets updated almost weekly/monthly
I tend to try go for playlists made by Spotify, user made are the ones that rarely get updated - or updated frequently until the creator gets bored.

I wasn't very clear, what I meant was that over a huge period of time, it's still MOSTLY the same songs over a very long period of time, you don't see the chart movement that you used to.

Trying to ring a father from a remote community in far west NSW to confirm his accommodation from tomorrow so he can come down and support his teenage child that's in hospital, and every time he answers the phone he just keeps shouting at me "I'm busy, bruh... I'm watchin' a movie... I already told you luv, I dunno who ya are, but I'm watchin' a movie and I'll call ya later, bruh" and he just hangs up. I've tried three times. Every time he shouts at me that he's watching a movie and slams the phone down. Helpful.

Oh well yes, in this regard I agree.
You're lucky to see 1 or 2 new songs added to the chart per month.

Goes to show we love to listen to the same songs over and over - milk them till we're bored of it.

That and most songs these days all sound the same - and if its REALLY popular it gets remixed a million different ways or sung by someone else.

Well that's it, so Bruno Mars Finesse is BACK on the Top 40 now because it was remixed.. like come on.
