On the topic of weird arrangements... just read that there's a planned protest at the front entrance of my work building tomorrow morning. It'll probably take me an hour to get through security to get to my desk.

LiveBetter have just moved into the building next to us, it's their first week of operation and they have decided since they are not allowed to smoke outside their building, when they have their smoke breaks they will smoke just outside ours and giggle and carry on like a pack of dickheads.

We get protests out the front regularly. Fortunately we have a back entrance and the windows are well soundproofed.

The protesters were against Adani. Part of working where the Premier works.

Sorry to hear that you're working next to such in considerate pricks Disco. Should probably let the cops know and get them fined.

Yeah because smoking on the street is something the police care about...

I dunno, I see the odd cop issuing fines to smokers in the non-smoking section around my work building every now and then. Depends on how much revenue raising they want to do I guess.

Yes.. but this is a public road outside my office, not a non smoking area, so .. not much a cop can do

Fair point. It sounded like they were really close to the office front door.

Alternatively, a noise complaint might work. It could be regarded as a public nuisance.

His office is a cottage type building so there's literally a footpath, a skinny porch and then his office window... although they're not doing anything illegal, they would easily be within 2m of his office window.

I suggested he contact the manager and make a complaint, not only is it disruptive but it doesn't look great for their business having large groups of people smoking their guts out at the front door throughout the day.

If it was, it'd be a waste of police resources to try and get them involved, I'm sure they'd "send an officer as soon as we can"

It is illegal in NSW to smoke within 4m of any business entrance, so he could probably take that approach but I'd take it up with the Management of LiveBetter before I took it to the police.

Well, well... I've found myself needing to buy a bit more this week from Coles (laundry dettol and cetaphil cheap and low in stock at home) so I've managed to satisfy that $60 spend without trying. Also managed to squeeze in 2x 1000 points bonuses for spending above $50. We'll see how the next 3 weeks go.

I know I have 1x 1000 bonus points for a $50 spend two weeks from now from a coupon so I'm thinking I may as well stock up on discounted necessities and claim this bonus 10k points. So 3 weeks from now, I should have 60k points. It looks like going forward, Coles is going to bump up the weekly $ requirement for these 10k bonus points so maybe making use of the current bonus points by stocking up on stuff is wise.

Going forward, I may as well just slowly chip away at the 60k points for the next 30 weeks. I should be able to keep my weekly out of pocket grocery spend down to $25-35 then which is pretty good considering my body corp costs is gonna go up by up to $520/mth soon.

Now if only Excel will work on my phone again without the Office 365 upgrade. I haven't needed it till now... damn microsoft... it's meant to be a lifetime licence!

(Finally) got my full licence this week, so went wine touring around the local region. Spent way too much money on wine, but the cellar is now topped up with some good reislings and reds, so I'm pretty happy with that. Even got a few good drinkin' whites for the summer, and a couple of bottles for Xmas gifts.

Woolworths have struck back at Coles!

Looks like Woolies have waited for Coles to bump up their weekly spend requirement over 4 weeks from $50 before lowering their weekly requirement.

They've sent me a $50 each week over 4 weeks deal. This beats out the current Coles offer which is $60 for the same amount of points/$ value. Plus I have a better chance at using those points at Woolworth since there's one on the way to work. I haven't used the Coles points once yet.

A friend wants to head to Tassie for a holiday next year. We might just take advantage of the 10 day Easter Break for 3 days of leave... assuming she can get away with it since she's starting a new job next week.
