Re: The UFC/MMA thread
I'm thinking about flying over from Adelaide for it

Oh yeah it's way too early to make solid plans, but if its Whittaker for the belt I will be strongly considering it.

Re: The UFC/MMA thread
If there was a change to the main event, it would more likely be GSP or Bisping rather than Whittaker. He fought his last fight with a bad knee after all. Even if it wasn't Bobby Knuckles for the belt it would still likely be him defending his interim belt

Re: The UFC/MMA thread
If that wasn't the best UFC ever, its in the top 3. Amazing card.

Never used fight pass but apparently it had a cyrpto miner hidden in it that seems to have been removed now, I highly doubt it was done by the UFC, more likely someone working in the fightpass programing side of things who had recently watched Office Space, I wouldn't like to be the guy having to explain to Dana White what happened, or what crypto currency is or how computers work...

Not going to lie - would watch it, but surely everyone would just look to take him to the ground - is he really going to be able to play catch up on those guys that have been doing it for a decade or more?
In other news, I'm excited about UFC 223 for the Namajunas v Jedrzejczyk rematch next month

He's working with Tyrone Woodley on his wrestling apparently, maybe with his speed and movement he'd do better than people expect?Disco wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 12:46Not going to lie - would watch it, but surely everyone would just look to take him to the ground - is he really going to be able to play catch up on those guys that have been doing it for a decade or more?

Joanna vs Rose is a great fight but looking forward more to Ferguson vs Nurmagomedov

Inb4 Connor takes another 100mil to lose an MMA fight and cement Mayweather's legacy.

If Conor doesn't do jail time for his latest stunt.... what a fuck up. He makes Jon Jones look good.

Re: The UFC/MMA thread
All because after zero title defences (ever), and over 500 days of not fighting in the Octagon they're finally taking his belt off him and putting it back into the division. Rightfully so IMO.
I get why he doesn't want to fight, another victory is nothing to him, but a loss is huge - he's got no-where to climb to and a long way to fall.. but this sort of gypsy bullshit is disgusting to the sport. I like McGregor, but to be honest after this he should probably be banned from UFC for a period of time. They've bent to his whim for far too long and the division has suffered.
I thought the correct progression would have been for the winner on the weekend, would fight the #1 contender, and then probably fight McGregor, but now who knows.

For those who missed the story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/ear ... hite-says/
Two uninvolved fighters from the card were injured and thus ruled out and a third was punted for being involved in the raid. I'm sure he makes good money for them when he fights but if he's going to behave like that he's probably not worth it?
And yeah, dude should be in jail for that. The guys injured by him and his gang of thugs should sue, missing that fight and having to wait for another shot could seriously impact their careers. Dana will hopefully look out for them and get them another fight ASAP though.

Re: The UFC/MMA thread
He's either getting a lifetime ban or this was all a setup for a Mayweather MMA fight for another hunned mil each.

If it was a setup it was a pretty fucking dumb one. They have turned one of the best cards of the year into a very average one.
