The Warcraft movie is the highest-grossing videogame film ever

Post by NewsBot » 22 Jun 2016, 22:05

It might be trendy to badmouth the Warcraft movie, but plenty of people are prepared to spend money to find out if it really is as bad as people say. The film is officially the highest-grossing videogame film adaptation ever, thanks largely to impressive ticket sales outside the US.

It's probably the best videogamemovie I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them. There aren't a lot of particularly good ones out there though, so it isn't much of a compliment. The only one I can think of that's decent enough to stand on its own merits is Resident Evil, but that's always seemed more "mutant rage zombies" first, videogame adaptation second. Maybe the Dead Rising and Hitman ones, too.

Shame it hasn't done so well in the US but I hope the strong Chinese support means we'll get at least one sequel. It might end up being garbage but I'd like to see what they could do now they have all the tech sorted out and some established characters.

Not much a fan of Dead Rising (although it nailed the b-grade zombie trash genre), but I agree the first Hitman was very enjoyable.

I got nothing for ya... I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

I liked the Prince of Persia movie, but I was a bit drunk at the time :P

Still going to wait until Warcraft is out on Bluray/subs before I bother.

Wait till Tuesday?

...and see it in 3D if you can. I don't normally suggest that, but this was really nicely done.
