Hi all! I know we've got a couple of RC experts floating around here, I'm looking at getting involved on a budget and wanting to ask some questions!

Its been a while since I've used mine, but I still have it, so can possibly help out with some basic questions

I have a TT-01 (I think they have TT-02 now), which I bought the Expert Built version and then upgraded various things (Engine, drive shaft, suspension, got the drift wheels, new shell, just pretty basic stuff like that)

I previously had a Tamiya that I built myself with help from my dad, but I was about 10-11 when I built that so it was never quite right lol

I like the rock crawling ones, but I also like the ones that look like mini versions of real cars.. however my wife wont allow me to spend $600 + the controller etc. on an RC car - also there is no way I'd spend it lol.

I'm looking for suggestions for entry level rock crawler car, hopefully that looks real but the only options I see there are mini chinese ones that you put together yourself or the Axial SCX10 II :(

Sort of depends what you want/how much you want to spend I guess, I can only speak from experience about Tamiya models, so there's ones like these which are both the same base model with a different shell, and both factory built kits

it reviewed well from this guy https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... -01-Review

You can also get the same thing (CC-01) in kits form which you add whatever controller/servos you want, I imagine shops sell them in packs if you want the experience of building it yourself but being a little easier.

For specific advice is there a hobby place you can physical go to? I've been to a few in/around Melbourne and the staff have always been great

Hey don't know if you're still interested but I'm currently building up a Hpi wheelyking crawler it'll be another month or so but IL be selling it if you'd be interested. The axles are very similar to axial scx10 but wider. The pictures show the two. ImageImage

So I ended up buying myself a 1/10th scale ute/truck last year (ECX AMP) which then went on to buying the kids a 1/8th scale one each for Christmas... and then onto buying myself a 1/8th LiPO buggy (Arrma Typhon 3S) for myself recently...

All have been great fun, but I have done the biggest damage to the newest buggy.
So this week has been ordering new parts, and fixing old parts to hold on while the new ones arrive.

Bent steering arm
Image

Hard to see, but this completely cracked and popped off the supporting rod.
This is the arm that holds the front wheel on, I am assuming it broke in the same crash as the steering arm getting bent

Which then leads to a whole front end being taken off for repairs...

But all back together now and working again. Hopefully the repairs hold for a little while and I don't need to install the new parts straight away. They can be spare parts.
