fur babies!

Post by Celticangel82 » 14 Nov 2015, 20:18

Can't have gaming without fur babies! Show them off! :D

Our kitten April,

And my handsome little man Finn.

Both are rescues. Finn never leaves my side. He came from such an abusive home,me got him at 4 months old, half his tail hacked off with an axe. Disgusting. He's such a smart boy, full of love.
He had an older cat sister, serenity, but unfortunately we lost her. He was a mess. He and April adore each other since we got her home, .. she cries at the door if he's outside, she just wants to play with him,

Our cats Sasha (left) and Marceline (right):

Here's a picture of them on the first day we had them (about 12 weeks old, if I recall correctly):

Here's our new Labrador puppy, Molly, being introduced to our old, mostly blind Husky, Kokomo:

Nawwwh I miss having a bunny! Had one on the quiet side as a kid.
Might look at keeping a feral baby bunny when I find one on the property

My sister contemplated getting a rabbit but they're illegal in QLD.

Also kind of annoying to keep, cats are far less effort

The penalty is $44000 and/or six months in prison. Not really worth it to be honest :P

Damn that a little intense for a pet. Anyway I am sure there is a reason for that. But Damn.

Definitely a reason - believe it or not, rabbits are a massive pest.

They destroy crops and native vegetation, and they breed at a ridiculous rate. From year to year keeping them under control can cost the government anywhere up to $1 billion. Your average female rabbit can birth up to 145 babies per year, and they live up to about 9 years - if we're conservative and say it only breeds for 6 years of it's life, that's still over 850 babies PER female rabbit and then you have to remember that it's babies start having babies, etc. It gets out of control really fast, so those who think they're just a harmless, cute pet generally lack the broader knowledge of the damage they can do.

It's a bit like city-dwellers who have never spent any decent amount of time in a rural community protesting against the culling of Kangaroos... they generally have no clue what they're talking about.

I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

(just to clarify these rabbits are fixed and won't produce offspring should they ever manage to escape, rabbits as CherryRed says above are a horrid pest. just like cats I guess, but I keep mine indoors and they're also desexed)

Yeah there's a reason for the huge fine, it's the whole breeding like rabbits thing

The only thing my kittens do a lot of is sleep and chase insects around the house.

Rocky sure is, he has a beautiful coat, when he's not curled up in a ball (not often!).

Although in all honesty he currently looks like a Teletubby...
It's really cool that his leopard spots go right down onto his skin though, without any hair at all he has them, not so good in the photo however.
Image

It's almost impossible to get a good photo of him, he's always curled up, moving or in a box
Image

Tara on the other hand is a poser ... :p

Beautiful! Bengals are such intelligent creatures. My cousin has a rescue, and oh man. Brilliant cats.

And not to worry, our kitty is indoors 100% and we'll be doing our bit to cull feral bunnies and pigs.. rampant on the property.

This is our pooch, I call her Tavia, short for Octavia - saying the full name is embarrassing, you'd be right for assuming I didn't name her...

She's a bit of a mix when it comes to breeds but appears to be mostly Ridgeback - you couldn't ask for a sweeter dog. :)

He loves wearing it or you love seeing it on him? Because if you ask me, he doesn't look very impressed.
