Battlefield V
Re: Battlefield V
There's apparently a shit load of new/changed/improved features in this, that that trailer barely suggests at

Re: Battlefield V
Dolphin diving is sooo going to be back. If people can jump up and down while shooting and dive all over the place while shooting they will.
Sounds like they're adding a whole bunch of customisation options. Hopefully they get the lootboxing right this time!

Re: Battlefield V
I was really hoping for a less chaotic style of gameplay.

Re: Battlefield V
It sounds like it will be slower, trailer just doesn't show it. You allegedly spawn with quite limited ammo, don't automatically regen health, have to get health/ammo from boxes/whatever (actually interact with it, not just be near it), can't spot stuff and have it marked on the minimap, but we really need to see some natural gameplay to gauge any of this.
I admit I'm not super excited by this so far, but I can't say I haven't enjoyed all the other Battlefield games, so I'm still curious.

Re: Battlefield V
From the JackFrags video it seems you regen some health, but only up to certain points. Pretty much health bars from other games, really. Feels like that would be better than full regen.
I really didn't play much Battlefield 1 in the end, so I'm not that keen. Doubtless there'll be a beta for it though!

Re: Battlefield V
I haven't put many hours into any Battlefield game since Bad Company 2 (my favourite), but this just looks a lot like BF1 with more movement mechanics to me.
Like Yurtles said I'd prefer slower gameplay so we'll see what the actual footage ends up being.. but is anyone else pissed off that only Pre-Orders get access to the beta?

Re: Battlefield V
Well, after the Battlefront 2 debacle, I sure won't be preordering. BF4 still has an active player base so I'd fire that up if I wanted to play some BF.
But I will see how this game comes together.

Re: Battlefield V
I might still get it, but it wont be a preorder, and I'll have to wait and see if they've learned any lessons from Battlefront 2 (unlikely), and more than anything else, if they've gotten rid of that stupid scope glint that makes no sense at all.

Re: Battlefield V
Strange they are calling it Battlefield V rather than Battlefield 5... there is already a BFV!
It sounds great and very uncharacteristic for EA IMO... no loot boxes, no premium pass, cosmetics for sale but no game unlocks which aren't unlocked via gameplay. Sounds like Dice fought pretty hard for those features.

Tell you truth, whilst the graphics look good, I'm really not all that excited. Now, if they made a Battlefield game in the Command and Conquer universe...

Re: Battlefield V
They need to buy a license and redo 2142 as an Imperial Guard game.
As much as i love WWII games i feel like most of the charm of the BF franchise revolves around unlock progression and WWII just doesnt have the guns/tech to make it interesting any more than WW1 did.

It was weird... it was REALLY good right up until a major patch to "rebalance" and then the entire game was shit and died.

Re: Battlefield V
I never played 2142, but I like the idea of having the progression system of Battlefield 4 in a future setting. So many creative upgrades they could make.

Re: Battlefield V
It looks like the closed beta is happening now, but an open beta will go up on Friday AU time at some point, anyone else going to give it a go?

Re: Battlefield V
Most likely not. BF1 didn't run too well for me so BF5 will likely run at a crawl. If you do try it, let us know what you think.

Re: Battlefield V
I'll give it a go but it had better be fun and wow me for me to purchase.. I didn't think EA was going to do an open beta so that's something at least

Re: Battlefield V
Feels like reskinned BF1 so far but lacking any of the charm of cavalry charges. They've somehow also man all the menus absolute rubbish.

Re: Battlefield V
It feels like a step backwards to bf1 in a lot of places so I'm going to wait for a sale to get this.

Re: Battlefield V
I liked the gunplay.. but yeah, going to pass on this one, doesn't seem to have much in the way of progression, and the maps lacked vehicles.
I thought it was odd they took the Anti Tank away from the engineer class?

Re: Battlefield V
Who's got anti tank now? Assault I assume.
Was it Vietnam where Assault had a M60 and Anti Tank?
