More interested in how they do versus Valve, since TF2 is a more direct competitor than Battlefield. Or IW/Treyarch/Sledgehammer with COD, the more popular competitor. Or Splash Damage with... whatever that game they did was called. I want to say Dirty Bomb? That's more similar in style to Overwatch.
Anyway, if they don't jump on cheats as quickly as possible then the game is toast. They can't be waiting around to do ban waves like they do for WoW, not if they want to seriously break into a new genre at last.

So I did some reading before work. It seems there's already a bot people are using to stop being kicked for AFK, meaning people can just queue all day and afk, and level via other peoples hard work..... I sure hope they deal with this in a more real time fashion than the way they deal with pvp bots in wow, which is usually once a year they just ban thousands at once.

The game looks interesting (And yes a direct competitor to TF2) and I need a new FPS to jump into...

I really like it. Similar to TF2 but faster paced and more characters. Really digging playing as Genji and Reaper at the moment.

Same. I'll give it a go and see if it it's worth getting.

I wonder if I'll have completed my seasonal journey in Diablo 3 by then yet?

If you've prepurchased by April 29th you get a code for yourself and a friend. If anyone get's one and doesn't have any friends, I'm so keen for this game and will definitely try it out in the open beta period!

I spent a bit of time in training mode testing out all the characters and then playing a few games. In all honesty, I don't think this game is for me.

I can tell that there's been a fair bit of thought put into it as well as the balancing but the experience comes off as scarce compared to what I wanted.

The 4 classes of offense, tank, defense, and support are intuitive but then the breakdown to the different characters is where the cohesion falls apart for me.

Each character feels like it has less than a handful of abilities/attacks too. I understand that per class, there's quite a lot of variety when there's at least 4 characters per class and we can switch characters before respawning... but the lack of abilities per character does make the game feel very scarce. The fact that we can mix and match good and evil characters in any team also adds to making the game feel like a mixed bag to me.

I think I'd have enjoyed it more if the characters had an additional degree of customisation and if the characters were split between two teams.

I also kept hitting left shift to sprint and right mouse to aim down sights. Too use to modern shooters now.

I will stick to Battlefield 4 for my online shooters and wait for the new Unreal Tournament to be released.

I went into it playing it similar to TF2, and it scratched that itch really well. I only played vs AI on hard and it was a serious challenge. I enjoy the range of skills/abilities and honestly I think this sold me.

It'll become my go to shooter.

I think I've figured out why I'm not enjoying the game as much... you really need to be playing with headsets so you can communicate to each other. Uncoordinated assaults just limits things. Anyway, I tried a game as support (Mercy) and probably did better but just spent the whole time following a tank and offense players healing them.

I've tried all the characters but have mostly been playing Tracer. Zip, zip, "Weee!"
Getting lumped into overseas matches a lot today. Very annoying. Not sure how much more I want to play but it's more than I've played so far.

Mugsy you're exactly right, communication is so important in this game. Random pubs will be a clusterfuck. Find some friends exactly as interested in the game as you are to play with for the best experience.

And still no invite :c
