i havent entered the DZ area yet, quite content to slowly meander my way through the game.
it will probably end up to my detriment, with being able to find evenly matched people to join will become harder....which happened to me big time in that destiny game.

God yes, last night was frustrating - what was really weight though was that I was still in game playing just fine - with Jason, no lag or problems but I was completely unable to join the party, receive requests, or even see any of my friends online, so I have no idea wtf was going on but it was the first time that's ever happened.

Yeah had lots of server issues last night, got dropped half a dozen times over an hour or so. Hit 30 late last night so now the grind for gear begins.

I'm only level 10. Definitely more fun with friends. I mean, the game is still fun, but running around with a companion is better.

Which is why I'm annoyed they haven't fixed the grouping thing.. there are heaps of people I could play with if it would just scale them down to my level -.-

The problem is that if they scaled them down to your level, you wouldn't get to kill anything because your higher level team mates would be one shotting everything anyway. My mates and I are running a pretty huge level spread. The low level guys run around healing/support and picking up weapons which might not be super exciting but they level really quickly.

When I say scaled down, I mean weapons/armour too - so that if a level 30 joined a level 5 team mate, he would only be doing similar damage to the level 5 team mate.

Maybe it's not possible, but it really fucks up the early game experience when you can't play with your friends because as you said, running around healing/support and picking up guns is boring.

Pretty easily possible IMO, there's some kind of point allocation system per level with items so it would be a simple algorithm.

Level 13. I just did the mission where you have to restore power to Times Square. Decided to try match making. Was with a Level 11 (I was level 12) and a Level 8. Got to the last bit and there 5 snipers. The Level 11 was just afking the whole time. The level 8 kept dying and eventually quite. After about 10 minutes I managed to solo the mission and kill them all. As soon as I was done, the level 11 guy was no longer AFK. Prick.

Urgh, at that point I would've quit before completing the mission.

Out of my PS group I'm the lowest level at 16, most are in their high 20's or 30. My main co-op partner did a late night run with higher lvl players and jumped to 21.

I'm just enjoying wandering around, admiring the level design and recreation of NYC. Joining friends' games and fast travelling into areas I haven't discovered seem a bit of a waste and missed opportunity.

I feel like there's plenty of time to grind/farm later.

The match making at low level is horrid, many times i've been put with people 4-5 levels above me that make my presence in the run utterly meaningless.

If I knew how I might have. I also have no idea how to quit being match made so had to stick it out. I quit after I finished that mission though. I think it's pretty good I was able to solo a match made mission though lol.

Probably how the level 8 felt about me as I had to revive him and the other guy the whole mission and that defense bit at the end was just constantly res'ing him. If I knew how to tell him to just stay in cover I would've told him to do so as then I could've just finished the mission myself like I did.

IF you see any named elite guys do not kill them until lvl 30 that way you can farm them for loot, you kill the elite but leave his minions alive and either let them kill you, or run to another zone and he'll respawn kill them all and they don't respawn again.

They're removing the ability to farm named elites in tonights update.

There's an absolute godly First Wave M1A available at the advanced gear vendor at the back of the security wing, with the Accurate and Balanced talents it's a definite must-buy for the next 24 hours and easily the best rifle I've found on sale so far.

Is stock the same for everyone? I thought it varied. Might have to go pick it up, I tried to go into the Dark Zone yesterday and got whooped by four yellow 30s just inside the zone. Need all of the better gear. :(

Stock is the same for everyone but it scales depending on your level, so if you're not level 30 it'll be the same rifle and talents, just a different level requirement and stats to match.
If you're close to level 30 I'd recommend hitting level 30 before buying it.

man gonna have to give it a rest for a bit, with no penalties for troll i lost 5 dz levels to troll groups of 4 people running strait up to my group and spamming the ground with grenades and abilities. even when we did kill them we got rogue status and 2 other groups followed them in and cleaned us up, it was an organized 12 man group, they didnt touch the other guys when they rogued. so gonna hang back till they either have decent endgame pve or they penalize trolls like they did pre 1.02 patch.
not worth the frustration of grinding anymore

I've been having a lot of fun in the DZ the last couple of days. A couple of nights ago I grouped up with a couple of guys and started shooting up other agents to start a manhunt, we were wandering the map watching each others back before we realised we were horribly outnumbered so we bunkered down at the fuel station across from the extraction zone in DZ02. It was a pretty intense 10 minutes of agents constantly just throwing themselves at us with little to no co-ordination, so it was easy to survive the manhunt.

Last night I played the good guy, as I was following my farm route collecting Division Tech and shooting NPCs to get my rank up I noticed 4+ rogue icons pop up on the minimap, I started to head in their direction when I ran into another group of agents heading the same way. We eventually caught up with the rogues who were already in the middle of a firefight and we joined in the fray. It would have been close to a 6v6 firefight in the streets of DZ04 before another team flanked the rogues from behind and we started to win some ground. We pushed them back into an alley way and eventually overcame them, successfully ending their killing spree.

Surviving the manhunt gave barely any DZ XP and about 6k DZ currency, completing the manhunt and killing the other rogues was a much tastier reward, end up collecting about 20k DZ currency and leveled from DZ rank 26-28 in the span of about 10 minutes.
