Week 3 challenges up now:

Solo:
- Kill 7 Unidad vehicles with grenades (grenade launchers count) in Villa Verde
- Kill 6 Unidad Soliders from at least 200m away in Ocoro (combat outpost on the western side, I stood around the north of the base to get sufficient distance)
- Use the explosive drone to destroy 3 Unidad ground vehicles in Tabacal

Taskforce
- In villa verde, use C4 to destroy 12 Unidad helicopters (there are 3 at F.O.B. Tucan base... raid that 4 times, also a unidad buggy but it's easier to just attract Unidad patrols for the the solo objective)

Community
- Destroy 600k unidad helicopters in any province (50k taskforce completions will do this)

EDIT: No idea what the rewards are... they don't show up in the Challenge Screen for me. Seasons page also not updated yet...

https://ghost-recon.ubisoft.com/wildlan ... e-seasons/

EDIT 2: The Solo and the Taskforce rewards are paint jobs which you can see in this vid.

Taskforce challenge is done so that's one less thing to think about too!

The solo requirements are pretty easy. A 200m kill is pretty much dead on target with the 6x scope and the MSR. It's only higher than 200m that you need to start compensating for bullet drop (for every 200m, raise the scope one interval).

EDIT: The solo reward is also the better one this week too... kinda like the paint pattern.

I thought killing the Unidad stuff in regions without a lot of Unidad would be hard. Then I noticed the explosive drone requires level 15 and i'm still only 9. :(
Oh well, got the other two bits done, just need to spend some time running some missions and stuff. Tomorrow, probably.

Got the final two Unidad kills for the over 200m thing by shooting at a very far away Unidad helicopter and just kept tagging it as it flew closer. Got lucky and blew it up somewhere outside 200. Ding! :D

Yeah, shouldn't take long to get to 15 by doing missions. Telling your teammates to fire and calling in dome rebels is quite effective for cleaning out bases quickly.

If I get a spare moment tonight, happy to help you hunt down convoys for resources if you need em.

Finished this set of challenges last night. Used to be you could repeat missions and get the same XP reward but apparently they changed that at some point, so getting to 15 was more of a slog than actually doing the challenges. Ended up stealing a bunch of helicopters and planes because those're fairly easy and give good XP.

Can't wait to see what they've cooked up this time. Should at least be leveled up enough now, I hope. :D

Yeah, hopefully it's not something like revive X times AI teammates with a medic drone. That would suck regardless of what level one is.

I wouldn't mind a shotgun challenge though.

Solo:
Any province - destroy generators with explosive drone
La Cruz - sync shots to kill Unidad soldiers
Caimanes - use mortar to kill Unidad

Community:
Any province - use vehicle to run over Unidad soldiers (700,000!)

Task Force:
Flor de Oro - use helicopter rockets to kill Unidad soldiers

That Task Force one can die in a fire, the helicopters are so bad. :-/

Hope you guys have got your mortars unlocked and leveled up to some degree. The sync shots one is a giveaway though. Solo shouldn't be too hard with only 3 drone generator destroys, 9 sync shot kills, and 10 mortar kills.

But yeah, helicopter rockets to kill unidad soldiers is gonna suck. 50 of them! But that Titanium paint looks like it'll be sweet. I like metallic paints.

And that Community challenge is gonna turn this game into Carmageddon.

Well, Titanium paint for everyone! That... was kinda fun the few times I managed to get into a rocket launching helicopter and not get blown up on the helipad. :D

Pro-tip for the mortar challenge, you can call mortar strikes from your drone as well. Helps to hit those hard to reach places. :)

Nice work Mythor! Will need to check out the new paint after work.

Also, the Splinter Cell costume pack is out for anyone who owns Splinter Cell Black List. OK, so it's out for anyone to purchase too but I don't advocate spending $20 on a crumb dumb costume pack. Such a rip off.

I managed to get through the solo challenges last night in less than an hour.
Seemed very easy this week.

Got the mortar kills by taking a sniper tower, telling my buddies to stand at the bottom and then slowly attracting more and more Unidad soldiers.
Ended up getting 7 or 8 kills when i hit 2 reinforcement cars. I didn't make it out of the tower though, got shot with a few rockets from heli's

Hmmm, I'm not liking the responses I'm getting RE the Taskforce Challenge rewards from here:

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/16 ... 5-10/page3

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/16 ... -unlocking

Looks like I robbed you guys of the paint job from last week and only Mythor got the Titanium paint from this week.

Yeah, looks like we're gonna have to hold back and only do a few bits and let everyone contribute towards the taskforce challenge from now on.

I had a bit of a rant on the post that I started (second link). Doubt it'll solely make any difference but every bit helps I guess. Hopefully the devs take note.

Agree that whilst the rewards aren't super awesome things, locking each other out of the chance to unlock these rewards is a pretty shitty experience for a team based game.

Got an official reply from a community rep:
Hey Mugsy and all,

If a member of a Task Force completes the Task Force challenge, all offline members will get the reward once they connect to the game. As long as they connect in the following three weeks. We are aware of the situation where members are not receiving the rewards and its part of our known issues and is currently being addressed. Will be fixed in an upcoming update.
I also don't think we're gonna hit the community challenge this week. Not even 10% of the way there as I type this and I doubt too many will wanna play Carmageddon in Wildlands with how poorly the vehicles handle. Wish they had gotten someone from Criterion to do the car physics.

EDIT: Found myself driving into a Unidad base to run over a few soldiers (thought I'd do my bit either way) and ended up clearing enough of the base and SAM sites that I could hop into the attack chopper. Yeah, I never would have hit 50 kills in that thing despite having taken out 3 or 4 choppers in air to air combat. Kudos to Mythor for doing the task this week.
