My enthusiasm for this has died a little - full price AAA game with a marketplace where you can buy items to boost xp/get better gear etc. Nothing wrong there, or if the currency to use it can be earned in small amounts through the game, but if said currency can also be bought with real-world money... I agree with the linked article that it might lead the developers to build the game in a way that makes the micro$ feel worthwhile.
Not too bothered with the crates, still more annoyed by Shelob. Do hope they don't go overboard with the crates thing, pretty unlikely to put a dollar into that but I guess if it gives the money to make another game? Maybe something outside of Mordor though. How many times can you not be the one to defeat Sauron anyway?
