Sounds like skill trees and whatnot are making a comeback, which is the one thing I was hoping to see.

Such a good cinematic trailer, surprised they went so gory but love it.

I actually found IGN's gameplay lowdown more straight to the point than many of the Diablo streamers...

From what I've read from Q&A summaries, there's no skill point respec... period. I'm not particularly liking the sound of that.

No release date, still plenty of time to fix that!

LOL. I'm not holding my breath though. Majority of the player base apparently don't want skill respecs. I don't see a beta bringing to light this limitation.

As I also posted on Whirlpool, I just wish they'd have a series of check boxes when you create a character so that you can choose:

- hardcore or softcore
- perma skill allocation or respec anytime
- solo self found or group enabled
- seasons or non-seasons (when they eventually implement seasons/ladders/leagues/what ever they wanna call it)

These things are the staple choices for ARPGs these days.

It's a vocal minority that don't want it. Same as before Diablo 3, when people lost their minds over the potential of respecs.

They want to sell lots of copies? It'll have respec. You might have to pay for it though, with the way things have been going!

Holy shit! I'm watching the D4 Unveiled Panel vid and they said there will be mounts to rid on.

This is to help with traversing the open world. They're doing away with the linear Act 1 to Act 4 structure so it'll be an open world MMO structure.

As for the respec, I hope you're right... apart from the the paying for it bit.

Apparently, sets are designed to be the gear to use for fresh characters hitting max level with builds comprised of just legendaries being the way to play as you progress through. I'm not sure how they will get around having to collect the set first... maybe it'll be like Haedrig's gift but you get it at max level.

Well if you cant respec then it wont matter, first character will just be a trash farmer anyway.

No-one does cinematics like Blizzard, even after all these years.

I wonder if one person has been in charge of that shit for like 20 years... because they seem to just be consistently good.

Not sure about the lead for the cinematics team but I think they've retained a lot of their talent for a long time. Here's one example:

Obviously the game is far away, not even blizzard soon. But I think people need to be clear with their exceptions, and understand that everything that everyone wants isn't going to make it into the game if for nothing else than that people want different things. I don't want D1, D2, or even D3, I want a new game. I know a lot of people have been talking about itemization, but for me the items are just a tool to do what I enjoy most in Diablo games, killing monsters and in D4 that feels better than ever.
