Been so excited for this since the debut. It's finally coming!

It certainly looks amazing! One of the biggest statements I heard about it was the fact the devs thinks 99% of the games universe will go forever unexplored by all players, ...it is that big.

Well if they're randomly generating it all then it should be obvious that most combinations will never be seen. It's a pretty meaningless statement.

Gives you an idea if the scale though... And the depressing realisation that you will never be able to co-op with your mates as it'll be too bloody far to easily meet up.

Doesn't stop people in Elite Dangerous, "oh what, you're only 1600000 jumps away, I'll see you in 8 months!"

Definitely want to try finding another human in the game. Just hope whoever I try to meet doesn't spawn on the opposite side of the galaxy, because that's going to take a really long time just to get close! Be a neat achievement though, possibly even an Achievement/Trophy.

when you finally get there it's like "Oh you wanted me to wait for you..."

I'm in two minds about this game. It looks awesome and exciting but they have said you can't play it with friends or that you won't be able to tell the difference from a player or the ai.

I was surprised to see this is being sold on GOG. It's going to get pirated like all fuck, the GOG file will be uploaded to the bay by someone on the first day of release for sure... :eh:

EDIT: Aww, looks like the video I linked to has now been set to private.
EDIT2: Replaced video.

Says no online connection required too, which I wouldn't've thought was right. Thought a connection was required so it could track who discovered things and so on? Bit strange. Good sign, perhaps? Means it should be more open to modding if you can run it on its own.

I don't think you can ever actually see another person, just a planet labelled as being discovered by them.

This is fast approaching now. Are people still on board with this and is pc or ps4 the way to go seeing as it's lonely in space

Space will always be lonely as the chances of actually running into anyone are remote to say the least. :(

I am still very much on board, as evidenced by my repeated impersonations of a newsbot. I'm getting it on both platforms because... because.

PS4 has the advantage if you have a particularly nice setup for couch gaming as the game is likely to be good for relaxing and exploring.
PC will probably have better graphics, a better choice of controllers and, if you have an nvidia card that supports it, Ansel photography mode is supposed to be in it. And if anyone ever cracks the game open for modding, it'll be on PC. But there's always Steam sales in that case...

Just some things to consider!

I think you've got a good grasp on how to gear up now in D3 and it takes about 40-60hrs depending on RNG to get that stash tab if you plan out how you attack the seasonal objectives efficiently. Not hard to do over the course of 3 months.

Is No Man's Sky a kid friendly game? Could always cycle between each person every 30min so you're spending time with the kids and playing games at the same time.

And that's where SteamLink comes into play - my PS4 has been sorely neglected since I picked one up. :)

I threw down my pre-order on Steam last night.

Tickle me sufficiently excited for this.

Will grab this one on PS4 once I have the chance to read some reviews, I've hopped aboard the hype train in the past and been disappointed

i do my best to ignore hype trains for all games, happier for it. gives you a chance to enjoy games for what they are instead of comparing them to whatever bull crap the fans and advertisers claim them to be.

Gonna go the pc route me thinks. Will save any arguments for the tv and will probably get a steam link down the track anyway. Will get it some time next week after seeing some initial reactions and ive had time to do a bit of diablo season 7

Had been sort of suspected for a while, not particularly surprised. Hope it unlocks at a decent time of day on Steam, not 3-4am like everything else, ever. :D

Might actually have internet by then... \o/ still on the fence with this one.

I haven't been following closely so forgive me this question...

Was there any confirmation over whether you could play with friends or not, ie is it possible to group or be in same instance/area (even if it means flying for 30 hours to actually get near enough) or is this a purely solo affair?
