Rocket League

You could step outside and take part in some sort of team activity... or you could hit Start instead.

I gave it a quick try. The new map is exactly the same as one of the Rocket Lab maps, but with the Neo Tokyo theme. You can now also trade in any 5 items of a similar rarity and receive back one of the next level rarity. A few altered start positions it seems, and after match "podium" of the winners, together with some ratings based on how you performed in the game. (such as "Playmaker" for having several assists). You can also now go into the options and alter some of you DPAD quick messages with an extended selection to choose from, including after match "GG" and the likes of.

A few crappy quality Steam screenshots of those changes.

2 of the 3 games where I've been on the podium I've gotten the enforcer performance. Apparently my ability to inadvertently run into people is noteworthy. (EDIT: make that 3 out of 4)

The Neotokyo map is freaking crazy! Working out positioning when there are two levels is pretty difficult.

Yeah I love the rocket labs maps and am glad this one made it in. I quite like the pillar map in there and the other map similar to the Neotokyo map.

Anyone up for doing some Ranked games and ranking up with me?
The people I usually play as are way above me... need to catch up slightly.

Had a couple of mates who are higher ranks join up with me last night, started at Prospect 2, ended at Challenger 1
Was amazing how quickly I gained ranks, pretty much every win was either a division or rank up.

Now my gold rank looks a lot nicer. Now to improve it.
Helped that one of the guys I was with is a Challenger Elite, and pushing the top of that.

For those that haven't played in a while, the new "Rumble" mode is some damn good fun.
They have added power-ups like boots, fists, tornadoes, etc to the game play. Makes for some interesting moments...

I might reinstall it and have a go. I got sick of a far too often toxic community within the game.

The spikes are the most OP thing there currently...
If I can get from one goal to the other quiet easily, it needs to be changed...

Have had some hilarious moments though, need to record some games.
Also noticed that they have done a really good job of the AI intelligence with using the power ups, they usually get it right

Except for the spikes. The AI seem to get confused when they get the ball attached.

Valid point... I have scored goals because they drive backwards when the ball is attached.

It's way harder to get a regular game of Rocket League with players of consistent abilities now that rumble mode is here. The contrast between the game when everyone is playing well and when the abilities differ is amazing. Especially as it brings out the inner arsehole in some people.

Would love to play some games against people I know that we can laugh about stupid shit we do, rather than against randoms...

That vid of kharis scoring on kick off has got me interested in playing a pre-xmas PA game sometime.

I suppose I need to enjoy that Batmobile and Delorian at some point.

Anyone around for a game in the next few nights?
I have 2 people that jump on with me, but another 3 to get some internal games going would be good

New patch has dropped today, including ending Season 3 of competitive.

Patch notes can be found at: https://www.rocketleague.com/news/patch-notes-v1-31/

Big mentions:
- Wheels are the season reward
- New game mode "Drop Shot" has been added
- Easter items have started to drop
- Neo Tokyo is now not part of competitive or casual playlists.
- New Achievements have been added, so now I need to get back to 100% complete :(

- Sweet... been waiting for them!
- Looks like a cool game mode
- Eh, not really fussed.
- Thank god! Should never have been part of competitive. Same with that space one.
- Aw man... gotta get 100% again as well...

New Rocket League mode is some good fun. Pretty random at times though.
Only played against bots so far, slowly working it out.
