I'm counting on the fact that I'm not one of the woeful ones. At least I hope it's a fact...

The only thing we didn't have was someone turning up in ugg boots.. and I never appreciated what a pain in the ass it is if you turn up 10m early for your interview.

It's been about 12 years since my last job interview. The way things have gone I've always known the people I've worked for beforehand and I've just walked in to the job. I'm terrified about how woeful I'm going to be if anyone ever decides to interview me for this crap I've been applying for.

Travelling interstate on the train (about half the cost of a flight for me) and found out there's no charging points on the train... Better be thrifty with my phone usage!!

I interviewed 18 months ago for the current role. I had one interview 6 years ago I was unsuccessful for. I've been lucky and gotten all my roles on the strength of my resume / selection criteria. So I have 0 interview experience really.

Only annoying thing is my current agree by wants to meet me just beforehand for a "where did it all go wrong?" talk, which I stupidly agreed to, so I'm going to have to focus on that (not to mention my current gig) when I should be mentally prepping.

Writing selection criteria for one job tonight, then I have an interview for another job tomorrow. It's times like this I wish I could just be content with my current circumstances. It would be a lot less work - especially when I'm moving in 3 weeks time.
Be thankful you're not dealing with someone going through surgery in the middle of the application writing. That was a tiring week. And it was for the job I am doing too. But I guess there's nothing like the threat of unemployment to get one focused - lol

Good luck with the application and interview though!

I'm spending this evening in the hospital. God bless the hospital for setting up guest WiFi.

Yeah, I imagine there's a lot of scenarios that are far worse to be in than my current situation. I'm definitely thankful that it's only self-inflicted pain, and that my employment (probably) does not depend on it.

Reported a Samsung SSD under warranty last week - they sent me an email with an RMA label last Thursday - I posted it off today... arrived home this afternoon to find something in the mailbox... ... the pre-paid Express Post satchel they forgot to tell me they were sending me...
So - the RMA label that Samsung ask you to put on the front of your parcel has From: on the left and To: on the right...

My parcel which should have been heading To: Samsung is waiting to be picked up at my local post office...

How much fun will I have tomorrow trying to ring the PO and have them cross out My address - and drop the satchel back in the post to go to Samsung... ...

I'm done with wanking onto a page. Now to prepare for tomorrow's face-to-face wank.

(With my level of cynicism, I'm amazed I even hold down a job...)

Well that was a flop, so we selected a successful candidate yesterday, she was looking for a full time job as she was only a full time casual at her existing workplace and wanted some more security.

When she returned to her job after the interview they offered her a full time position, and she accepted, so now we're running the advert again, bah.

You're in it now, stay the course. If you stick around I imagine they'll be unlikely to forget that you wanted to leave and who knows what they might do knowing that.
I don't actually know what you do for work, but if it's a big enough place to have a HR department I doubt they have any loyalty to you.

I'm an IT contractor, so the notice is that I won't be extending my contract past EOFY. What the contracting company is hoping is that they can defer until the offer comes in for an extension, so either they can try to guilt me into staying (I won't), or use my hard work to weasel another contractor into my place. I'm just hoping for a clean break and they're making it really hard to do that.

Good luck with finishing up at this particular workplace.

Finishing up at my last workplace was a bit of a pain. I knew that their payroll was gonna wait as long as they could to pay me out my leave which was till EOFY. I made sure I had FairWork lined up and ready to go when they missed the payment date. Hopefully you won't need to do the same.

This is not helped by the fact that I know they've withheld the final weeks pay from other contractors when they've left, so I've been spending a fair amount of time reading up on my contract rights, as well as reading through my contract to make sure I do nothing (or have done nothing) that will be in breach. I'm expecting them to mess me about, so the whole thing is stressing me the hell out right now.
